What to Expect

What if I lose my tickets?

If you lose your subscription tickets, PlayMakers will replace them at NO CHARGE. Just call or come by the Box Office and duplicate tickets will be issued. Once these have been issued, the original tickets are invalid.

Who goes to PlayMakers?

Expect a diverse crowd including college students, faculty, staff, and members of the Chapel Hill, Durham, Hillsborough, and Raleigh communities.

What should I wear?

Dress at PlayMakers is casual with the exception of Opening Night Gala events, where the dress is more formal.

What is this “Opening Night” business anyway?

Opening Night refers to the opening performance of a production which is then followed by a gala reception including wine and hors d’oeuvres. Anyone can purchase an opening night ticket which includes an invitation to the gala.

As a subscriber, can I buy extra tickets?

As a subscriber benefit, you receive a 10% discount off the single ticket price for each additional single ticket you purchase for friends or colleagues (limit 4 per show). Not valid with any other discount or on Tuesdays.

What if I am late to the show?

If you arrive after the performance has begun, you will be seated at the management’s discretion during an appropriate break in the action. Please do not seat yourself. We appreciate your cooperation!

What if I have an emergency?

Patrons expecting phone calls during the performance should leave their name and seat location with the House Manager and the phone number (919) 843-7789 with their telephone services. Please also leave all beepers and telephones along with your seat number with the House Manager.

Can I bring my child to the theatre?

In the best interest of all patrons and performers, parents are discouraged from bringing very young children or infants. Each person, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Lap seating is strictly prohibited.

Texting, using cell phones, laptops, and other devices that make sound or emit light during the performance is strictly prohibited. It disturbs other patrons and the actors. Please turn all electronic devices to silent or off during the show.
