Ticket Exchange

Guidelines

  • To arrange for a ticket exchange, call or fax the Box Office a minimum of 48 hours prior to your scheduled performance. Have your tickets in hand when you call as we may need your patron number. At that time we can reserve tickets for you, pending the return of your tickets - whether in person, via mail, or by faxed copy. The Box Office must receive tickets NO MORE than 48 hours after the exchange request is made. If you would like your replacement tickets sent to you, you must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Otherwise the Box Office will hold them for pick-up before the show.
  • To FAX your exchanges: Simply send a fax showing your TORN tickets with your seat and patron number, clearly visible, to PlayMakers at 866.904-8396. Please write the new date you want, your name and phone number clearly on the fax sheet. The Box Office must receive your faxed, torn tickets NO LESS than 48 hours prior to the performance date on your current tickets.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged after the originally scheduled date has passed. Subscribers may use expired tickets under our Walk-In policy (see policy to the right).
  • Tickets can only be exchanged for another performance in the same production run and may not be used for a different production later in the season.
  • Reservations for exhange tickets will be held for 48 hours, pending the receipt of your original tickets or faxed torn tickets.
  • Seating for ticket exchanges is based on availability. We cannot guarantee equivalent seating in an exchange.
  • Patrons who exchange for higher priced performances will be charged the difference in the face value of each ticket. Exchanges to lower priced performances do not result in refunds.
  • If you are unable to use your tickets you may donate them back to the theatre for resale. If your tickets are resold, the cost of the ticket can be claimed as a tax deductible gift to PlayMakers. The box office will notify you with a gift letter after the production has ended. Tickets must be donated 24 hours before the scheduled performance.

Walk-Ins, Flex, ISP

Ticket Donation and Walk-in Policy

If you are unable to use your tickets you may donate them back to the theatre for resale. If your tickets are resold, the cost of the ticket can be claimed as a tax deductible gift to PlayMakers. The box office will notify you with a gift letter after the production has ended. Tickets must be donated 24 hours before the scheduled performance.

For Subscribers: If for any reason you miss your regularly scheduled performance and cannot notify us in advance, PlayMakers has a liberal walk-in policy. Subject to seat availability, you may use your tickets to 'walk-in' to any remaining performance of that same production (except Opening Saturday nights). A few minutes before the show, the House Manager will escort all walk-in patrons into the theatre to take any remaining empty seats.

Early arrival is recommended, as a walk-in line forms prior to curtain time and entry is on a first-come, first served basis.

FlexTix and ISPs

How to use your FlexTix or Incredible Student Pass (ISP): If you order a FlexTix or Incredible Student Pass (ISP) subscription, you will receive one voucher per production. Please note that vouchers for one show cannot be transferred to another show.

To redeem your Vouchers:

  • Call 919.962.7529, email us at prcboxoffice@unc.edu or stop by the Box Office on the first floor of the Center for Dramatic Art.
  • Identify yourself as a FlexTix or ISP subscriber by giving the patron number printed on your vouchers or presenting your vouchers at the Box Office.
  • FlexTix and ISP subscribers may make reservations for any performance during the run; if you want to attend the Opening Night performance, however, there will be a surcharge added to cover the price difference between your voucher and a gala opening night ticket.
  • Please reserve your seats early, as some performances will sell out.
