Many thanks to Joan Gillings for her support of the Production Fund forAs You Like It. Joan’s gift to this annual fund assisted the costume and set designers in realizing their vision for our production of Shakespeare’s most beloved romantic comedy. The designers’ vision is made into a reality in part though the work of the Department of Dramatic Art graduate students in Costume Production and Technical Production; in this way the Production Fund also assists in the training of tomorrow’s theatre artisans. Through its support of 250 costume pieces, 135 boards of lumber, 400 floor tiles, and the making of 50 spring trees, the Production Fund helps to weave the magic in As You Like It as we follow our heroine Rosalind from the Royal Court into the lush Forest of Arden. Joan Gillings is our kind of heroine, too!
