Since 1975, PlayMakers has been bringing our community world-class, innovative classical and contemporary theatre. As you can imagine, work of this quality is expensive to produce. As a not-for-profit professional theatre, fully 60% of our operating budget comes from contributed income. A contribution to the Friends of PlayMakers directly helps us bring great stories to life, nurture artists, and introduce students to the live theatrical experience.
We hope you will consider supporting our work by becoming a member of the Friends of PlayMakers. For an annual contribution of $50 or more, you can help to sustain what you see on the stage as well as our numerous educational and outreach programs. Please know that your gift, at whatever level, is greatly valued.
Your membership in the Friends of PlayMakers will assist us in creating great theatre for the next 30 years! Thank you for your consideration.
PlayMakers Ball 2008
The PlayMakers Ball is the largest fund-raising gala in the state. The Ball will be held on Saturday, November 1 at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. It is a lavish event featuring the Peter Duchin Orchestra, and a menu created by Executive Chef Jim Reale for over three hundred guests in rooms specially decorated within a chosen theme by area designers. The theme this year is Anything Goes! A Tribute to the Great American Songbook.
There will be a reception/cocktail hour starting at 6:30 pm, the presentation of the PlayMaker Distinguished Achievement award at 7:30 pm, dinner at 8:00 pm and dancing from 9:00 pm until midnight. The presentation of the award is a highlight of the Ball and the award recipient will be announced at a later date. It is a black tie affair. Each table seats ten people and the sponsorship is $5,000. Single tickets are $500 each. For income tax purposes, donors may deduct a portion of their contributions to the 2008 PlayMakers Ball.
PlayMakers Repertory Company operates as a full-season professional theatre in the Triangle region of North Carolina. It is affiliated with the 60-member League of Resident Theatres, Actors' Equity Association, The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, and United Scenic Artists. PlayMakers is one of a handful of resident theatre companies situated on the campuses of major research universities. The company has achieved national recognition as a center in which theatre artists work and train. PlayMakers Ball contributions help underwrite production costs, and artist and designer salaries.
