ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

PlayMakers Repertory Company (LORT D), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, seeks a highly motivated & experienced Assistant Technical Director for their 2014-2015 season. PRC produces a 6 show main stage season in the Paul Green Theatre, thrust stage, and a 3 show Second Stage series in the Kenan Theater, a flexible space, on the campus of the University of North Carolina. Applicants must have MFA and two to three years of professional theatre experience. Possible teaching assignment available. Successful candidate will have excellent scheduling/planning, computer, and organizational/communication skills. Detailed knowledge of woodworking and metalworking technologies, automation, equipment maintenance, theatrical structural analysis, safety procedures, and an ability to trouble shoot is a must. Responsibilities include load in and strike of all PRC shows, drafting and construction of PRC sets, purchasing, and coordination and organization of materials in scene shop. Ability to work with and train multi-skill level crews including professionals, graduate students, undergraduate students, and volunteers is required. Contract dates are 6/16/14 – 5/10/15. PROPERTIES MASTER

PlayMakers Repertory Company (LORT D), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, seeks a highly motivated & experienced Properties Master for their 2014-2015 season. PRC produces a 6 show main stage season in the Paul Green Theatre, thrust stage, and a 3 show Second Stage series in the Kenan Theater, a flexible space, on the campus of the University of North Carolina. Applicants should have MFA and/ or three to five years of professional theatre experience and proven management skills. Successful candidate will have excellent scheduling/planning, computer, and organizational/communication skills. The Properties Master will be responsible for working with guest and in-house designers and directors to pull, purchase, and construct properties for each production. Properties Master will also oversee production schedules and budgets, purchasing, maintenance of equipment and inventory as well as supervising undergraduate students and two professional shop staff members. FINANCE ASSISTANT 

PlayMakers is currently seeking a finance assistant to perform day to day transactions and support PlayMakers accounting tech and general manager.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Creating check requests: paying bills as requested by departments and ensuring that they are being paid with proper internal coding, setting up vendors as needed, receiving approvals and in an accurate and timely manner.

-Paying independent contractors: paying individuals for their services as requested by departments and ensuring that they are being paid with proper internal coding, approvals and in an accurate and timely manner.

-Reconciling Petty Cash Advances: using PlayMakers internal coding procedures.

-Preparing transaction listings for accounting tech.

-Preparing journal entries: as requested by accounting tech or general manager for interdepartmental transfers, correcting funding sources or various other needs.

-Support work for management staff as needed.
